The activity we call ‘Shared reading‘ is designed to work on aspects such as interaction and participation within a group. As it is very flexible concept, it can be done anywhere outside the classroom. We have decided to do it in the garden, and we have been enjoying those early, warming rays of sunshine and the shade lent to us by the palm trees. As a result, we are encouraging cooperation and group cohesion. We take a break from a traditional class dynamic, passing more of the responsibility for the teaching-learning process to the pupils.
What a wonderful afternoon we had! Author Pepe Maestro helped us to live a delicious adventure, with Violeta as protagonist. In “A Walk by the River”, the children not only enjoyed the story, but also the fabulous illustrations from the novel which we at the school invite you to enjoy.
