On Thursday February 16th, the Yago School Parents’ School brought to a close the series of conferences about educating adolescents with an interesting talk entitled, ‘Undecided parents, lost children’.
The school frequently offers the opinions and advice of relevant specialists in the field of education and this time it was Jesus Herrera, psychotherapist and Youth Project director, who gave us the guidelines for educating adolescents, making us reflect on what we do and what we feel as we educate, with the aim of motivating us and guiding us in the difficult and exciting task of parenting.
At each session the main challenges faced by parents of adolescents were highlighted, and different ways of dealing with each difficulty were proposed. The session was dynamic and worked through the parents’ doubts with their participation and contributions.
Standards, limits, judgement, communication and parental cohesion were some of the key areas that were addressed in the sessions offered during this course, and about which you can find more information in the Spanish version
