Andalusian breakfast, theatre and fun to commemorate the Andalusian Day
The pupils marked Andalusia Day last Friday with different activities. The aim of this celebration is to develop interest and respect for Andalusian culture as well as discovering the Andalusian provinces and some of its characteristics (typical products, monuments, landscapes and more). Through these kinds of celebrations we bring children closer to different ways of feeling, thinking and acting, and help them learn values such as tolerance, acceptance and respect.
In Infant we celebrated by having a traditional Andalusian breakfast in the playground, made from products from our land such as bread with oil and sugar. Fun plays, readings, activities on the digital whiteboards, poetry and crafts contributed to the learning of the eight Andalusian provinces, its most important monuments and in general to foster interest in and respect for the Andalusian culture.
In Primary, the weekly Assembly was dedicated to the Andalusian community. On this occasion Primary 6 pupils made an excellent exhibition about gastronomy, population, climate, culture, heritage and many other interesting facts so that their schoolmates understand their traditions, their customs and their social and cultural environment.
HAPPY ANDALUSIA DAY!
