On March 27, we welcomed thirteen new Chinese children visiting from our sister school in England. They spent the next 15 days staying with the families of some of our pupils between Primary 5 and Secondary 2, and sharing experiences and activities in our classrooms.
We spoke with them to get their first impressions about Yago School and they revealed to us that they found many similarities with Riddlesworth Hall School and also cultural differences. The most remarkable thing, according to these children, is the great kindness and sympathy of the teachers, children and families, besides our gastronomy, of course!
It seems that the Chinese children are very comfortable in our school, where they speak English during 70% of the school day and we teach our pupils cultural aspects of China in their Chinese classes.
This is the first experience of exchange among many others that we are preparing with schools in the United States, Holland, China and England.
We hope you enjoyed yourselves!
