On October, 12th we celebrate Spain Day which began in 1987 with the purpose of solemnly recalling moments of collective history that are part of our common historical, cultural and social heritage.
At Yago School we celebrated it today, October 11th with many activities spread throughout the School to teach our students part of our history, alluding to our values and traditions.
Throughout the day the hymn of Spain was played and the colours of our flag could be seen in every corner of the School.
We had crafts, plays about the Discovery of America, murals, pennants, information about the influence of the Conquest of America on Spanish music,a recreation of the three caravels “La Santa Maria”, “La Pinta” and “La Niña”, Kahoots quizzes in English about curiosities of the Discovery and Primary 6 student Antonio Pérez played the Spanish hymn on the piano…
All this, to celebrate The National Day and so on October 12th they all will feel proud to be Spanish.
Long live Spain!
