Susan Hayes: “The Yago School, which is more like an older larger sister was a most impressive place and I was fascinated to see their methodology.”
Last week we had the pleasure of a visit from Ms. Hayes, the headmistress of our sister school in England, Riddlesworth Hall.
Susan took advantage of bringing back our students Alejandra and Claudia from their stay at Riddlesworth Hall, to get to know Yago school. Her visit started at our impressive Nursery and continued with a tour of all the classes in our Senior School from Infant 3 to Secondary 3.
“This school teaches its students in ENGLISH – and from as young as six months! This, then, explains the impressive standard of our Exchange students’ written and spoken English.” “I’ve never really given much thought to ‘total immersion’ as an approach before but to see 650 students and all their teachers speaking English at all times gave me real food for thought.”
These comments confirm that Yago School is truly the international, bilingual, private school in Seville that offering all its education in English, except Spanish Language, Mathematics and Values or Religion; our students have a very high communicative standard due to the compulsory use of English within our facilities; and the immersion experiences we offer at our sister school in England, undoubtedly favour practicing the language in a purely British environment while at the same time gaining maturity.
We all spent three very special days together. She had the opportunity of speaking to hundreds of children who had spent some time at her School over the last few years. She also learned the characteristics of our international and innovative educational project and we have also agreed to exchange our best educational practices.
Yago School and Riddlesworth continue strengthening their partnership and pupil exchange programme.
We hope to see you again, soon at Yago School, your home!
