During the second and third terms of the school year we host a variety of External exams in English, Chinese and Music.
We work with world-renowned examining organisations and are examination centres for the University of Cambridge in English, the Confucius Institute in Chinese and the Associated Board of Royal Colleges of Music for piano, singing, violin and music theory.
At Yago School we see external exams as a motivational compliment to the curriculum that we teach, providing students with the opportunity to show off their individual learning abilities and enjoy international recognition for some of the skills they are learning at school as well as learning to perform in a less familiar setting.
Being a school that firmly believes in a pluri-lingual future for our students the English and Chinese exams are compulsory for those candidates selected as they form a part of our educational project. Those students who are very carefully selected are informed about a month before the exams take place.
So last Saturday May 5th, some of our students in, Secondary 3 completed their CAE exams (C1), Secondary 1 and 2 students did FIRST (B2) along with some Primary 6 students who did their PET for Schools (B1). May 24th will be the turn of Primary 2 students with Starters, Primary 4 Movers and Primary 5 Flyers.
Saturday, May 19th Yago School will welcome external students who, together with our own pupils will do the YCT1, 2 and HSK 2 Chinese exams.
We will finish our external exam schedules in June with the ABRSM theory and practice exams.
Good luck to everyone. You are more than well-prepared so enjoy the experience!
