We are thrilled to share the exciting results that two of our students achieved in the 11th edition of the Autumn Mathematics Competition (CO+), preparatory tests for the LVII Edition of the Spanish Mathematical Olympiad organised by the Faculty of Mathematics and the School of Computer Engineering of the University of Seville in collaboration with the mathematical societies Thales and RSME.
Of the 314 students presented in the province of Seville (153 from Secondary School and 161 from Bachillerato), two of our students stand out:
- Alejandro Breen from DP1 came equal first out of 161 students in his category in Bachillerato.
- Hugo Domínguez from Secondary 4 once again stood out in the Olympics by taking the second best score, after a shared first place, out of the 153 students presented in the Secondary category.
This is the competition that opens the mathematical competitions of the 3rd, 4th year of Secondary and Baccalaureate levels. From now on, workshops will be given to prepare problems for the students who are best classified in the CO+, and who will compete in the Spanish Mathematical Olympiad (local, Andalusian and national phase) and in International Olympiads.
As a school we feel immensely proud of the achievements of all our students who have participated and of the champions in this very important discipline.
