Siempre Así and the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville made history last Thursday, April 4th and Friday, April 5th at the “Teatro de la Maestranza”, offering a unique symphonic concert in which the Yago School Choir also participated.
In the second part of the concert, 70 Yago School students filled the back of the stage. The youngsters delighted family, friends and attendees with two performances, “I do believe in you” and a cheerful “Sembrao”, which managed to lift the spectators from their seats. The students showed the results of the great effort and work done during long hours of rehearsal in the School under the leadership of Mr. Durant.
It was Mr Durant too who conducted the Symphony Orchestra of Seville perfectly. He has been working on the orchestral arrangements of the songs for this concert for a whole year together with the Head of our Recording Studio, Rafa Almarcha, leader of Siempre Así and creator of the school choir.
It was a privilege to participate in this fabulous concert that also included the participation of the flamenco dancer Pastora Galván, the soprano Ruth Rosique and the violinist and concertino of the ROSS Eric Crambes, among other great international figures in the artistic and musical scene.
According to the ABC cultural of Seville article, “The Yago School Choir, in just five years of life has become a benchmark for its way of working music with children and for achieving excellence”. They sang with mastery and soon they will close the year performing in the Vatican before their Holiness Pope Francisco.
Yago School, in its commitment to our culture, art and music has a strong link with Siempre Así and ROSS, two great institutions that are part of the living history of Seville and that will always be strongly linked to our School.
Congratulations to all!
