Yago School is the first cardio-protected international private school in Seville to have a defibrillator.
All members of the School staff gained special first aid knowledge, by taking a training course in the use of this medical device.
The main objective pursued by Yago School with the installation of a defibrillator, is to save the life of anyone who suffers a sudden cardiac arrest at the School. In this way we became the first cardio-protected school in Seville that has the necessary equipment to assist a person in the first few minutes after a cardiac arrest.
Sudden cardiac death can affect anyone, at any time, anywhere, and unexpectedly. The first hour after the onset of the symptoms is preceded by the loss of consciousness, but the first 10 minutes are the most important in which to act and try to save life. That is where the defibrillator comes into use to perform proper Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This device is designed to be used by non-medical personnel to assist the victim within the first minutes after cardiac arrest, thus increasing the chances of successful resuscitation.
With the provision of this defibrillator, Yago School is able to provide staff, students and families with emergency treatment, that offers more security and protection.
