Yago School presents diplomas to the 1st Graduating Class of the International Baccalaureate Programme

by | Oct 20, 2021 | Yago School

Mr. Resa, Yago School’s Headmaster, presented the diplomas of the first graduating class of International Baccalaureate to all students who started their studies in this prestigious program in September 2019.  Ms. Dominguez, IB Coordinator and their former tutor, was also present at this important event.

All our alumni have already started their university life, some staying in Sevilla, while others have ventured to other cities; some have even decided to change continents to have a whole new experience in the United States.

Thanks to their well-rounded education received at Yago School and in the IB Diploma Program, all students have been able to access the university majors they wanted.

Our 2021 International Baccalaureate graduates were a very special class, who had to complete the two years of the demanding Spanish Diploma and Baccalaureate Program in very complex circumstances. Even so, this did not prevent them from achieving great results, and this is a reflection of their resilience, enthusiasm and admirable ability to adapt. The final IB grades are the finishing touch to a truly extraordinary academic experience that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

It was exciting to exchange impressions with the former students, as they said that they were now aware of the good foundation they had acquired at Yago School for the university studies they have recently started. Their first weeks at university were in many cases brilliant thanks to the wide range of knowledge and skills they had acquired.

The chosen universities were:

L.R. – Double Degree in Law and Bilingual International Relations – Faculty of Law – Universidad San Pablo CEU – Madrid

M.S. – Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Degree – Kutztown University of Pennsylvania – USA

A.R. Business Administration and Management – Faculty of Economics and Business Administration – University of Seville – Spain

A.V. Bilingual Computer Engineering. Software Engineering – E.T.S. Computer Engineering – University of Seville

M.P. Bilingual Finance and Accounting – Faculty of Tourism and Finance – University of Seville

C.A. – Pharmacy – Faculty of Pharmacy – University of Seville

JL.LL. Business Administration and Management – Centro Universitario San Isidoro – Attached to Universidad Pablo Olavide

I.C. Business Administration and Management – Centro Universitario San Isidoro – Attached to Universidad Pablo Olavide

A.S. Computer Engineering in Information Systems – Escuela Politécnica Superior – Universidad Pablo Olavide

We are proud of the great results obtained by our first graduating class. We highlight that the students of the IB Diploma Program of Yago College, whose first promotion graduated this year, achieved not only a 100% pass rate in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and 100% pass rate in the Integrated Baccalaureate (IB Diploma + Spanish Baccalaureate and Selectividad) and 60% of the students of the Diploma Program obtained 34 points or more, a score above the world average. In addition, 40% of the students have obtained the Bilingual Program.

We do not forget to congratulate all our IB teachers for their great results and training efforts.

About IB

Internationally recognized as one of the most demanding educational systems, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for students from 16 to 19 years old, has a duration of two years and is characterized by its focus on developing skills such as inquiry, critical thinking and social commitment. Student assessment is equally demanding and cross-cutting. It consists of three evaluations: the grading of the core components (Theory of Knowledge, Monograph and the Creativity Activity and Service project), an internal evaluation consisting of six final papers and an external evaluation, comprising six final exams. Currently, these tests have special recognition from some of the most prestigious universities in the world, where a large percentage of IB graduates gain access.
