Values

«Sincerity and honesty are the base of all virtue
– Confucio –

Among the basic principles of Yago School, we want to highlight traditional values, so necessary in today’s society; respect, discipline and effort, combined with autonomy, tolerance, responsibility, friendship and solidarity, form an essential formula to help pupils face learning the different subjects. Without these, knowledge never comes. Therefore, our pupils’ whole education begins by attending to these essential humanistic aspects first, and to achieve that we work on them  monthly in all the stages of the school.

The objective of educating in values is to accompany, stimulate and guide pupils in the development of their moral conscience, having, as an objective, the progressive growth of his personal autonomy and his sense of social responsibility.

Bullying Prevention Programme: KiVa

Values

Yago School is part of a group of exclusive schools in Spain that are implementing KiVa, the Finnish bullying prevention school program.

This innovative anti-bullying program was developed by the University of Turku (Finland) and it is the most scientifically proven anti-bullying program in the world. Currently, KiVa is present in more than 15 countries worldwide and its effectiveness has been demonstrated scientifically in different cultures. Some of the results show that children perceive a safer and happier environment (which improves the learning environment); bullying cases disappear or are reduced by around 90%; children’s anxiety levels are reduced; improvement in their attitudes and their social skills, and teachers and peers are more valued by the students themselves. In general, the evidence points to a very positive effect on school life.

The Yago Fundation

Values

The Yago Foundation” is a non-profit organisation that was created in 2011 from the enthusiasm and commitment of the whole Yago School team to help and to charge society with a spirit of solidarity.

All its activities are oriented towards the same goal, Solidarity. With this spirit we intend to transmit, especially to the pupils of Yago School and to society in general, the importance of solidarity, of thinking of others and of stopping from time to time and looking around us and observing the needs of those around us. Sometimes it will be just a smile, a gesture, a hug, sometimes it will be company, words of comfort and even money or food, any of these that are within our reach in order to make someone happy. That is the essence of The Yago Foundation, to bring us all together to make the world a better place.
