Throughout November, we have been learning all about gratitude and there was no better way to finish off the month than by celebrating the American holiday, Thanksgiving. This holiday takes place on the fourth Thursday of each November and is a very special day for most Americans. It’s a time when friends and family gather together to enjoy each other’s company and to reflect on the things they are thankful for.
At Yago School, we wanted to take the opportunity to share this special holiday and all that it entails with our children. This afternoon, we learned about the very first Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving traditions, and how to show our gratitude for the little things that make us happy.
We also read some fun stories related to the topic. Our I3 students read the story “The Thankful Book”, in I4 they enjoyed “Thanks for Thanksgiving,” and in I5 we read “A Turkey for Thanksgiving.”
After storytime, we all gathered around our tables and enjoyed our own version of Thanksgiving dinner. We want to wish everyone out there a very Happy Thanksgiving!
